– Delicious freshly-baked chocolate-chip cookies and ice cold lemonade placed at the reception for tea everyday

Note: Prices are rather steep for what is essentially a glammed-up motel but one’s gotta pay the price to be special! Recommended for the funky at heart, not for the value-seekers.

Eat:
If you are staying at the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel and breakfast isn’t included in the hotel rate, you’ll be pleased that The Farmer’s Market is a short stroll across the road where food is aplenty.

Try any of their indulgent crepes (nutella and banana) or gorgeous waffles with whipped butter and cream.
Shop:
Work off the calories from breakfast at The Grove with the likes of Abercrombie and Fitch, the Apple store, Barnes and Nobles and UGGs by Jimmy Choo. Oh, and if you’re lucky, you might just get to watch Mario Lopez filming on the set for Extra with a celebrity guest.
Duck in to The Cheesecake Factory when you’re ready for afternoon tea – don’t let its name fool you; this place is an institution with over 50 legendary cheesecakes and specialty desserts to choose from and a full menu to boot. Even the doorman looks like a rock star!

Spinning is HOT HOT HOT in LA and one can really be spoilt for choice when it comes to spin classes. After reading Tevia Celli-Recht’s online instructor profile, I picked Updog Spin + Yoga.
The verdict: I loved it. Tevia’s personal connection with the members, fantastic music and dedication to the program has garnered her a loyal fan base, 1 more included.
Note: Check the schedule online and call in early to reserve a bike as Tevia’s classes can get booked up quickly.
